Hello,

I've been playing in Panda Community TF2 #1 for the last few weeks and as I advance in level, I began noticing some flaws in the leveling system.
You crit more often the more attribute points you spent in crit, that's fine. But as players get higher and higher in level they start killing the whole enemy team with a single rocket. The reason for that is that nobody levels lifeforce. And the reason nobody levels lifeforce is because it's useless. It works like an overheal, in other words it's temporary and it doesn't even last you till you get to the enemy base. If leveling lifeforce increased your max HP permanently, not just for a few seconds, I believe the server would be way more balanced.
Personally I'd level about 10-20 points in lifeforce and the rest I would split evenly in crit and dexterity. But the way it is right now, there's no way anyone would spend points on lifeforce.

That is often a problem for light classes, such as the sniper, scout and spy. People get one shotted way too often by arrows or sniper shots that aren't even headshots. Often even by simple melee attacks. Getting one shotted while at 50 hp while my Dead Ringer is activated shouldn't be possible (Dead Ringer reduces damage taken by 90%)
As far as I know, 1 attribute point spent in Lifeforce = 8 hp overheal, so 20 points = 160 hp overheal. If the max HP increase was permanent that could be an issue. A heavy walking around with 460 hp or a scout with nearly 300 is a bit too much. I'd suggest lowering the HP gained per point to about 6, meaning 20 points = 120 HP and in return, you should make the HP gained permanent, instead of an overheal. That should balance things out imo.

I suppose that could also help with the the grenade spamming and spawn killing issue, that some people are complaining about. You live longer = got more time to run to a locker or to one of the higher floors of your base. Changing the player clip, as suggested in a different topic, is not a solution. It is a complication and a potential deal braker. I hope you don't do that.
I believe I understand the issues most players have, since I'm one of those regular players. Personally though, the spawn killing and grenade spamming is not an issue for me. I'm dealing with it quite well. That said, I hope you consider my suggestion. I strongly recommend that you do.

P.S I forgot to add, the leveling system needs a reset option. I wanna be able to respec if I suddenly don't like my choices or they are not appropriate for the class I'm going to play. That would be very nice.

This is work in progress, leveling system is bugged, this is old news. Main thing behind this is because code of this plugin is interfering with valve's "random" crit algorithm. In future this fill be more perfected.
You are right regarding one shot kills, but this is different story, and you should know that leveling plugin is bridged with other plugins, so it's not just fixing one problem on particular plugin. Code for that whole leveling system must be re-writen from scratch. So as i said, this is work in progress.
Stay tuned.

Well that's good to hear. I have nothing against those crits as long as that Lifeforce works correctly.

We are looking for a fix for this. It could take a while.. with that i really mean a long time.

What we can do is reducing the +chance you get by 1 point in CritChance and adding some +overheal per point in LifeForce.
Thats what we can do now.

Wow, I was excited when I connected to the server today after finding out the leveling system had been changed but I'm disappointed. For some reason, Lifeforce now only gives 3 additional points, even though it's still just a useless overheal.

Additionally, you've reset the levels, which many of us played for hours to gain. I was level 30+ once.

You should add a reset button, that allows us to reuse our attribute points whenever we want. That would certainly help a lot.

Also, could you provide any information about the changes? Have you changed the crit chance or dexterity? And what exactly does strength do?

The lack of a reset button makes us unable to experiment. Since the changes have been made, I have no clue what the most beneficial stat is.

I just had a great idea! You should add a "Clip size" to the attributes. Whenever I infiltrate the enemy base, I often encounter so many fridgehugging scaredy cats, that the time it takes me to reload is vital for survival. This can be solved by a clip size talent to spend my points on.
Either that or a faster reload talent. Or why not both? :)

Nope... Won't happen....
I have better idea, involves luck, so adds a little adrenaline rush, before entering "hot" area, roll the dice and hope for infinite ammo or god mode. ;)

Why would you want to involve luck? Makes the whole game pointless.

Faster reload would result in perma spam.
Imagine a soldier who doesn't need 1 second to load a new rocket but only 0.25 seconds.

Leveling mode will be removed soon. Instead we are negotiating something else. More stabile and not so overpowered.

Pity. Could we get some more info about that? Like when or what exactly?

Pity? Why is pity to remove something extremely outdated and replace it with new improved mod with regular updates+ton of new experience and in overall much better add-on?

Well that's why I asked what this new thing is, didn't I? I've no clue whether or not it's really gonna be better. And it's a pity because we're farming levels all day long and then all of a sudden we lose them. Won't higher levels at least get a head start or something? And what is this new add-on anyway? Like pick-a-skill kind of system like in Zombie Fortress or what?

First of all, you farm levels all day long, and when plugin (outdated plugin) bug occurs, you lose level. That's why we are implementing new system, and you should read my post where i said, we are negotiating, which means, it's not decided yet, but yeah, it will be something like pick something, that's the whole idea behind all of these plugins/add-ons. And i don't want to be rude, but it's not for you to know what will be until it's decided and fully tested. So bare with us and have patience. We do this for your pleasure... Nothing else.

What pleasure is there in a meaningless melee without challenge? Isn't it better to earn permanent buffs/levels/attributes as you play?
Besides, I don't lose my levels when a bug occurs if I've saved them first. And you can save them by simply disconnecting and reconnecting to the server. If the server crashes, then you will lose only the xp/levels you have gained since you started playing, but you won't lose everything. Sure, I'd love it if I didn't have to do that, but it honestly isn't a problem for me or the 2 friends I introduced to the server and now play, mostly because they have something to gain. Take that away and the server will become just a boring spamming melee.
I suppose I'll just wait and see whether you end up improving or worsening the server.
I hope for the best.

At least we have some healthy communication going on here. Yeah, worsening the server is our second priority, since i'm too old and tired after sleepless nights of finding suitable and fun plugins. But i think most of the players will be happy with whatever we come up with. If not, we still have that one shiny big "delete" button. ;)

Max you should know. A working delete button does not exist... Use bare hands to kill something is the only way to do it

And Dyils... ITS HERE

YOU HEARD RIGHT.

Not on duel though, but on orange.
Levels, experience and gold is saved via mysql. Same stuff on all servers with the mod (currently just orange).
Tell us what you think about it and if you would also want it on duel.

To test it: 193.192.59.191:27025

Have fun

No, test it HERE
